The Payroll Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing the payroll processing for several countries in EMEA, collaborating with the payroll vendor/s and directing the work of the team members supporting these particular countries.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

  1. Ensures timely and accurate data submission to the payroll vendor/s, according to the agreed process and timeline.
  2. Plans and assigns the activities according to the payroll calendars, ensuring proper resource utilization.
  3. Monitors the case volumes and other case-related metrics and SLAs, for the Iron Mountain team and for the vendor.
  4. Drives high customer satisfaction.
  5. Service delivery excellence: constantly reviews the existing processes and procedures, identifies gaps and improvements, and makes recommendations for changes.
  6. Ensures payroll controls are in place, up to date, and followed through by the team.
  7. Makes sure that all processes are documented and reviewed regularly.
  8. Closely supervises activities related to the UK payroll processing in particular.
  9. Manages day-to-day activities for a subset of the team, including monitoring workflows, team assignments, and processing deadlines.
  10. Organizes the work in such a way that there is a proper backup structure and plans in place.
  11. Monitors performance against goals.
  12. Provides timely feedback to the team members, takes corrective steps where needed.
  13. Leads with empathy and by example, ensuring high employee engagement and morale.
  14. Serves as the first point of escalation in case of payroll-related issues for the supported countries.
  15. Manages employee, business, and vendor escalations for the supported markets.
  16. Supports the EMEA Payroll Manager in the activities related to vendor management - monitoring of the vendor performance, services reviews, etc.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5 years experience in Payroll, Finance, or HR Operations with cross-country exposure.
  2. Good level of understanding of UK payroll.
  3. 1-2 years experience in leading teams and/or projects.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Payroll operations (in-house or vendor side).
  5. Strong background in working with HRIS, preferably Workday, as well as case management tools, ideally ServiceNow.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with key stakeholder groups.
  7. Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision-making.
  8. Strong analysis, problem-solving, proactive root cause analysis, customer interfacing, conflict resolution skills, and Continuous improvement mindset.
