Embedded Software Engineer – networking project

Apply for the Embedded Software Engineer – networking project role at Sii Poland. This role involves working on embedded firmware and low-level system software for cutting‑edge programmable Ethernet switches, collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to bring new features to high‑performance networking devices. You will be part of the Embedded Competence Center, a unit with more than 500 specialists nationwide, working on about 100 projects for 50 clients in automotive, IoT, telecommunications, medical, and other industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for programmable switches
• Work with hardware teams on board bring‑up and system validation
• Debug and optimize hardware–software interactions
• Write and maintain automated tests for firmware components
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in a similar position
• Strong experience in C/C++ and Python development under Linux
• Proven track record in programming complex hardware devices/systems
• Understanding of SoC architectures, memory management, and interrupt handling
• Familiarity with real‑time OS concepts and embedded Linux build systems (Yocto, Buildroot)
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English (everyday communication)
• Self‑learner, proactive, and strong team collaborator
• Residing in Poland required

Nice to have

• Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I2C, UART)
• Experience with board bring‑up, BSP development, or firmware debugging
