Embedded QA Engineer (freelance, part-time)
Weare seeking anexperienced Embedded QAEngineer tojoin our team and ensure the quality and reliability ofcamera devices operating incontrolled temperature environments (coolers). This role focuses onvalidating image quality, device performance, and system stability under various environmental conditions. You will beresponsible for developing and executing comprehensive test strategies toensure the client’s camera solutions meet the highest standards ofquality and performance incold storage applications.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for embedded camera devices operating incooler environments;
- Perform comprehensive image quality testing across different lighting conditions, temperatures, and device configurations;
- Conduct environmental testing tovalidate camera performance incold temperature ranges and varying humidity levels;
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware/software issues inembedded camera systems;
- Document test procedures, results, defects, and quality metrics indetail;
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software development teams toidentify and resolve issues;
- Validate camera performance across different operating temperatures and recovery from extreme conditions;
- Participate indesign reviews and provideQA input during product development phases.
Skills &Qualifications:- 5years ofexperience inQA/testing ofembedded systems orhardware devices;
- Strong understanding ofembedded systems architecture and firmware testing methodologies;
- Hands-on experience with logs;
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters);
- Understanding ofenvironmental testing standards and procedures;
- Knowledge ofcommunication protocols used inembedded systems (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet);
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention todetail;
- Experience with performance testing and optimization ofembedded devices;
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, orsimilar);
- Excellent communication skills and ability towork collaboratively incross-functional teams.
Nice to have:- Experience with Linux/RTOS embedded environments;
- Experience with Machine Learning algorithm testing;
- Knowledge ofpower consumption testing and analysis for battery-operated devices.
