Embedded C Software Engineer - Board Support Package

Your Role

As a BSP Software Engineer in the Edge Platform team, you will work on the cutting-edge SOCs from mainstream vendors to develop the next generation of edge computing solutions for Aptiv Connected Services. You will implement proof of concepts, build features, deploy systems, and be responsible for the end-to-end execution of projects. You will partner with stakeholders from product management, architecture and other engineering teams across many functions within Aptiv Connected Services and external implementation partners. In your daily job you will:

1. Develop embedded Linux operating system including u-boot, kernel and drivers for Aptiv Connected Edge System using Yocto.
2. Board bring-up, integration and design testing with hardware engineers.
3. Design, implement and test embedded security and edge computing solutions on Linux.
4. This role will include the opportunity to work with embedded AI and smart video processing technologies.
5. Troubleshoot production application software problems.
6. Modify software to debug, adapt to new hardware, and/or improve performance.
7. Perform knowledge gathering and sharing.
8. Have great fun in our fabulous office.

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar.
2. 2-3 years’ experience developing embedded Linux operating system including kernel, driver, u-boot and system configuration.
3. 2-3 years’ experience in C.
4. 2-3 years’ experience with Yocto Linux build system.
5. Experience with UART and SPI.
6. Proven ability to meet commitments and deliver projects within specified timelines.
7. Demonstrable experience using JIRA for planning and reporting.
8. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
9. Experience working with multi-site teams and with international project delivery.
