EIB Trainee - Secretariat General - Planning, Budget and Analytics Division - based in Luxembourg

Based at our Luxembourg headquarters and require regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi‑cultural environment.

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st March 2026) with possible extension up to 6 months if required by University.

Only applications from nationals of the Member States of the European Union, as well as citizens from candidate status countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) can be considered. Candidates whose Erasmus+ programme overlaps with the duration of the traineeship will not be considered. Limit applications to a maximum of three; only the first three will be considered.

Objective of the traineeship: The Group Strategy Department coordinates EIB Group strategy, oversees operational planning, and manages performance analysis and reporting. The analytics team seeks a trainee with a keen interest in data analytics and digital solutions.

As a trainee, you will support the next phase of the roll‑out of a digital performance management dashboard designed to enhance operational planning, monitoring, and reporting across the Group. The dashboard is deployed via SAP Analytics Cloud and integrates a multi‑dimensional data model with predictive analytics capabilities.

You will report to the Head of the Planning, Budget, and Analytics Division and collaborate closely with a dynamic and supportive team of professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Design new SAP Analytics dashboards.
  • Enhance the digital dashboard by optimizing design, reviewing processes and automating, exploring new models and data points.
  • Explore opportunities to expand SAC functionalities, leveraging AI capabilities.
  • Document processes and procedures.
  • Create user‑friendly training materials for users and data analysts.
  • Introduce the dashboard to diverse teams across the EIB Group.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or university degree preferably in data/computer science, management engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related disciplines.
  • Knowledge of reporting and data visualization tools; exposure to SAP solutions is an advantage.
  • Solid IT skills and expertise of standard office tools (MS Office).
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
