EIB Trainee – Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate – Intermediated Lending Division – Luxembourg

Role Overview

Join the European Investment Bank (EIB) in its Luxembourg headquarters as a 5‑month trainee (fixed start 1st March/April 2026, with possible extension to 6 months). The Programme supports the strategic projects of the Portfolio Management & Monitoring Directorate (PMM) – Joint Middle Office Department (JMO) – Intermediated Lending Division (IL) – Implementation, Delinked RS and Central Allocation Unit (IDCA).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior colleagues in business analysis, project management and strategic planning to enable ongoing initiatives.
  • Contribute to the technical development and implementation of new system updates across the JMO/IL IT applications, participating in parametrisation, testing and migration.
  • Assist in the design, documentation and dissemination of information and learning material relevant to the monitoring activity of EIB intermediated loans and guarantees.
  • Provide general monitoring support as required and assist the division with other projects that may arise.

Academic Qualifications & Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of the EIB’s mission, activities and financial products.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including MS365, Copilot, Outlook & Word, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Analytical skills and data management abilities.
  • Experience with software development, programming or visual platforms is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.

Eligibility

Only applications from nationals of Member States of the European Union and citizens from candidate states (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine) will be considered. Applications overlapping with Erasmus+ programmes will be excluded.
