We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Fund/Client Accounting Manager to join our team in Poland, Wroclaw. This position is part of our Talent Pipeline initiative, aimed at identifying and developing high‑potential candidates for future opportunities within BNY.

Position Summary

Leads the Fund Accounting function overseeing multiple teams responsible for delivering accounting services to a diverse client base, including net asset value determination, fund performance calculation, expense allocation, and report preparation. Accountable for the financial and human resources of the unit, ensuring teams operate efficiently to achieve goals and objectives. Drives execution of business plans and actively contributes to shaping the functional strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Establish guidelines for determining the net asset value (NAV) across various fund sectors for each measurement cycle, promoting consistency across product areas. Manage and develop the central site budget, including employee engagement, recruitment and branding initiatives.
  • Lead relationship management for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring service levels meet client needs and resolving any issues. Support sales efforts through RFP and RFI preparation and related presentations.
  • Provide oversight and guidance in designing processes that ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures. Address and resolve complex escalated issues from team members.
  • Define policies and priorities for drafting financial reports that review fund performance for a broad client base. Effectively communicate reports and complex accounting details to clients.
  • Recruit, lead, motivate and develop staff to maximise their contributions, foster professional growth and enhance team collaboration.
  • Manage relationships with senior auditors and clients to ensure financial reporting aligns with expectations and accurately reflects fund performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Background in Government Affairs is beneficial.
  • 7‑10 years of total work experience and at least 3‑5 years in management preferred; Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred. The ability to work independently but also highly collaborative across multiple functions.
  • A proven track record in successfully leading and delivering fund accounting conversions.
  • In depth knowledge of EMEA jurisdictional requirements for OEICS, UCITS & SICAVs.
  • Client facing / management and senior stakeholder management experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Experience building and managing large diverse teams.
