Join Our Team as a Director of Business Development - home based in UK, Poland, Sweden, Germany, or Portugal.
About this role
As part of our Business Development team, you will work alongside passionate and innovative professionals to ensure our customers achieve their goals.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the business development strategy and client retention in an allocated sales territory or with specified accounts. You will coordinate all activities delegated to the business development staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, coordinate, and develop strategic plans and sales strategies within your designated territory or accounts.
- Meet annual sales goals and objectives.
- Identify new business sales opportunities for TFS and collaborate with the internal team to respond to RFIs and RFPs.
- Prepare the TFS team for client meetings, such as capabilities presentations or bid defense meetings.
- Coordinate and monitor budget or contract negotiations post-award within your territory or accounts.
- Establish and maintain regular contact and excellent rapport with current and potential clients.
- Prepare and organize sponsor presentations.
- Gather critical information for proposal preparation.
- Understand the RFI/RFP process and lead the proposal development for each opportunity.
- Manage costs and submit claims in a timely manner.
- Interact positively with TFS operations personnel, track study status, and coordinate change orders when scope changes occur.
- Monitor and track competitor CRO activities.
- Plan and attend major industry events and tradeshows as per budget and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry experience.
- At least five (5) years of clinical research and/or sales experience.
- Over three (3) years of sales experience with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, multitasking, and entrepreneurial skills with a customer-focused approach.
- In-depth knowledge of TFS/CRO business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Awareness of clinical trial trends, policies, and regulations in TFS countries.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Effective planning, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to convincingly showcase services to clients.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory and attend company meetings as required.
