Join Our Team as a Director of Business Development - home based in UK, Poland, Sweden, Germany, or Portugal.

About this role

As part of our Business Development team, you will work alongside passionate and innovative professionals to ensure our customers achieve their goals.

The Director of Business Development is responsible for the business development strategy and client retention within an allocated sales territory or with specified accounts. You will coordinate all activities delegated to the business development staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop strategic plans and sales strategies within a specified territory or accounts.
  2. Meet annual sales goals and objectives.
  3. Identify new business sales opportunities for TFS and collaborate with the internal team to respond to RFIs and RFPs.
  4. Prepare the TFS team for client meetings, such as capabilities presentations or bid defense meetings.
  5. Coordinate and monitor budget or contract negotiations post-award within your territory or accounts.
  6. Establish and maintain regular contact and rapport with current and potential clients.
  7. Prepare and organize sponsor presentations.
  8. Gather critical information for proposal preparation.
  9. Understand the RFI/RFP process and lead proposal efforts.
  10. Manage costs and expenses effectively and submit claims timely.
  11. Interact with TFS operations personnel, track project statuses, and coordinate change orders when necessary.
  12. Monitor competitor CRO activities.
  13. Participate in major industry events and tradeshows as per budget and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical research and/or sales experience.
  • Over three years of sales experience with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Good knowledge of TFS/CRO business and trends in clinical trials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the sales territory and to company meetings.
