Join Our Team as a Director of Business Development - home based in UK, Poland, Sweden, Germany, or Portugal.
About this role
As part of our Business Development team, you will work alongside passionate and innovative professionals to ensure our customers achieve their goals.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing business strategy and client retention in an allocated sales territory or with specific accounts. They will coordinate all activities delegated to the business development staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate, coordinate, and develop strategic plans and sales strategies within a specified territory or accounts.
- Meet annual sales goals and objectives.
- Identify new business sales opportunities for TFS and collaborate with the internal team to respond to inquiries such as RFIs or RFPs.
- Prepare the TFS team for client meetings, including capabilities presentations and bid defense meetings.
- Coordinate and monitor budget or contract negotiations post-award within a specified territory or accounts.
- Establish and maintain regular contact and rapport with current and prospective clients.
- Prepare and organize sponsor presentations.
- Gather critical information for proposal preparation.
- Understand the RFI/RFP process and lead proposal development for initiated opportunities.
- Manage costs and expenses, submitting claims timely.
- Interact positively with TFS operations personnel, monitor project statuses, and coordinate change orders as needed.
- Monitor and track competitor CRO activities.
- Plan and attend major industry events and tradeshows as per budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry experience.
- At least five (5) years of clinical research and/or sales experience.
- Over three (3) years of sales experience with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
- Deep knowledge of TFS / CRO business.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Awareness of trends, policies, and regulations in clinical trials within TFS countries.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to convincingly present services to clients.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the sales territory and attend company meetings.
