GCR is one of EY’s five tax service lines, supporting businesses with tax reporting, compliance, and risk management. We help clients navigate tax transformation and deliver sustainable solutions across industries.

The Direct Tax Compliance and Reporting CoE partners with client tax functions, focusing on large, multi‑country compliance engagements. We leverage EY’s global expertise to deliver complex projects and innovate through the Global Tax CoE, which drives EY’s “All In” strategy and accelerates the Tax “Paradigm Shift.”

The opportunity

Join our growing GCR team as a Senior Manager in Direct Tax Compliance and Reporting CoE. You’ll lead multi‑country engagements in tax accounting and direct tax, providing Group Tax Accounting/Reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. You’ll help redesign compliance processes for efficient, high‑quality outcomes.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design tax operating models for multinational clients
• Build strategic client relationships
• Manage tax and finance outsourcing services
• Lead preparation/review of global tax provisions under IFRS and US GAAP
• Oversee disclosures and reconciliations
• Ensure SOX compliance and audit readiness
• Lead technical discussions on BEPS Pillar Two and OECD GloBE
• Implement process improvements in tax provision and compliance
• Coordinate reconciliations and schedules
• Monitor new standards and regulatory changes
• Standardize Group Tax Reporting processes
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting
• Manage tax reporting for M&A transactions
• Mentor staff on ASC 740, IAS 12
• Partner with internal/external teams
• Develop onshore/offshore teams for seamless delivery
• Ensure quality standards and team development
• Serve as escalation point for clients and teams

Skills And Attributes For Success

• Expertise in US GAAP/IFRS tax accounting
• Strong ASC 740 and IAS 12 knowledge
• Corporate income tax experience across jurisdictions
• Leadership and cross‑border team management
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Accounting/tax qualification (ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/CPA)
• Proactive, business‑focused mindset

To qualify for the role

• ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA/CPA or equivalent
• Strong tax accounting skills (ASC 740/IAS 12)
• Experience with tax packages and Excel
• Degree qualified
• Hands‑on corporate income tax experience
• Supervisory and coaching skills

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Project management and international experience
• Process/technology design knowledge
• Understanding of BEPS Pillar Two and OECD GloBE
