At Schenker, DevOps Specialists are responsible for fast feature flow from code to production. They work closely with all parties involved in the software development process. This includes participation in software architecture, automation of build, testing, and deployment processes, build and maintenance of software development environments, as well as design, implementation, and operations of software operation platforms.
This position is part of the TSC Application Platform Service team. The application platform includes both Kubernetes clusters as runtime environment for containerized applications and a toolbox for software development and operations that covers build, monitoring, and security tools. All of that is in the cloud, with AWS as main provider at the moment.
responsibilities :
Ensuring security of software operation platforms by constant improvement and application of (security) updates
Continuous development and maintenance of our Kubernetes platform
Continuous development and maintenance of our development toolbox (GitLab, Sonar, Nexus, Grafana, )
Deployment and maintenance of infrastructure in cloud environments
Development and maintenance of scripts and pipelines for continuous deployment of our platform components
Development of Go/Python based tools
Researching latest tools and methodologies to provide ideal and optimal solutions
Creation and maintenance of strategies to avoid risks and for disaster recovery
Monitoring & optimizing costs of resource usage
Evaluating resource sizing and -usage restrictions
Opportunity to participate in defining DB Schenker Cloud standardization & harmonization
Participation in 24x7 on-call duty rotation
requirements-expected :
At least 5 years professional experience in a relevant field (e.g., enterprise software development as a developer, as embedded DevOps in a software development team, operations of a Kubernetes-based and/or cloud-based software operations platform)
Kubernetes and Container technology
Docker
Linux system administration knowledge at least on the level of LPIC-1
Amazon Web Services knowledge (for example AWS Developer Associate Training)
CI/CD pipelines
Networking (IP/TCP/HTTP) at least on the level of LPIC-1, section 109.3 Basic network troubleshooting
Cloud native scripting languages (bash, terraform, )
Logging, monitoring, and alerting
Software Development background (e.g., Go, Python)
Experience in designing Cloud Native applications using AWS
SQL Databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
Familiar with Lean/Agile practices such as Kanban
Application Performance Monitoring
Amazon Web Services knowledge (for example AWS Developer Associate Training)
