Responsibilities

Within Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS), Societe Generale’s Corporate & Investment Banking division, the Global Banking Technology & Operations Service Unit - Financing (GBTO/FTB) Information Systems Department is responsible for developing and managing information systems related to the Financing activity and the Transaction Banking. Under this Department, Trade Finance (TRA) entity is responsible for the information systems of Trade Finance business.

Your role consists especially to manage the development and the maintenance of the Back Office system and its interfaces with all the Société Générale’s ecosystem (accounting, risk, datalake, etc.). The system is a global application deployed in multiple international places, including a vendor core banking product as well as a layer of interfaces being transitioned from legacy to modern stack. As an Agile DevOps, you will intervene on all tasks of the technical environment in which you operate. Your scope of intervention can range from the analysis of business needs up to Production, through design of the solution, development of the technical solution test and deployment. You will work in a global Tribe with teams in France, India and Poland.

Your future scope of responsibility will cover:

  1. Decompose technical and functional requests into detailed user stories by interacting with the Product Owner and the Agile team;
  2. Understand mainframe environments and the existing deployment mechanism in order to migrate the future components to new infrastructures;
  3. Lead DevOps initiatives in the team;
  4. Keep yourself updated on DevOps culture by all means, and be an evangelist for the global Tribe;
  5. Ensure and increase autonomy of the team regarding environments and deployments;
  6. Implement and maintain a CI/CD pipeline;
  7. Integrate the vendor software into Société Générale IT ecosystem;
  8. Maintain PROD & Non PROD environments;
  9. Ensure application operations: monitoring, alerting, resiliency, ITRM with the help of the application manager;
  10. As a member of a Chapter, contribute to knowledge sharing and growth, ensure alignment with the guidelines and practices;
  11. Participate in Application support (“You build it, you run it”): analyze incidents, problems and requests, and co-ordinate with other teams till closure;
  12. Keep process & documentation up to date;

  14. Languages: Angular, Java (target) & Cobol (legacy).

Profile required

  1. You have bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering;
  2. You have at least 3 years of experience in a position related to DevOps;
  3. You have Java or Cobol knowledge (as a plus);
  4. You have proficiency in English, Polish is a nice to have;
  5. You have high analytical skills and curiosity;
  6. You have good interpersonal and communication skills, with flexible approach;
  7. You are open to explore other technos (Java will remain the primary one) and willing to grow;
  8. You have understanding of Agile and Project methodologies: Scrum, SAFe, Agile and Waterfall;
  9. You are able to work autonomously, take initiatives and challenge & improve legacy;
  10. You are organized and able to prioritize work autonomously.
