We are currently looking for a Design Engineer, the location for this position is Gdynia, Poland. In Wärtsilä Gas Solutions (GS), our Design Engineer will manage day-to-day project work, produce complete documentation according to GS customers and GS internal standards, actively drive for improvement of work methods (including lessons learned), ensure that the design engineering work supports the project team, discipline, and company strategies and processes, and validate and recommend solutions that will improve GS competitiveness both technically and financially.

You will shine in this role when you have:

1. Technical education (M.Sc. or B.Sc.) - Ship Technology/Mechanical Engineering or similar
2. Experience with AutoCAD/Plant 3D/Advance Steel/Inventor (one or more)
3. Knowledge and understanding of marine classification societies, IGF code and maritime rules and regulations
4. Good English both verbally and in writing
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of an international team
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Experience with Wärtsilä Engineering Tools is an advantage
8. Experience with LNG/LPG and/or Marine business is an advantage

What will you be doing?

1. Modelling and creating technical drawings in Autodesk Plant 3D, Autodesk Advance Steel, Inventor
2. Documentation production and its checking (Bill of Materials, Standardizations, GA etc.)
3. Participation in the complete documentation workflow
4. Understanding design guidelines, both internal and international standards, and comply with the Contractual requirements
5. Cooperation with project management and other disciplines (mechanical, E&I, process, etc.)
6. Participation in the development of more efficient engineering processes
7. Contribute to efficient project execution to the right quality, cost and time
8. Coordinating project activities and supporting team
