Purpose
The Demand Planning Team Leader will oversee a team of demand planners to ensure accurate and efficient forecasting processes that align with the companys strategic objectives. This role is pivotal in driving the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, enhancing forecast accuracy, and ensuring seamless collaboration across various business functions.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of demand planners to achieve departmental goals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Forecasting and Planning: Oversee the development and maintenance of a 36-month rolling forecast that accurately reflects customer growth and market trends. Ensure the demand planning process is executed to the highest standards, utilizing advanced analytical tools and methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to align demand forecasts with business objectives. Facilitate and lead S&OP meetings to drive consensus and strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the demand planning function.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for demand planning activities. Act as a key point of contact for demand-related inquiries and issues.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse market trends, customer data, and historical sales to inform demand forecasts. Provide regular reports and insights to senior management on forecast accuracy and demand trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related field, with a track record of leadership.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and demand planning software (e.g., JDA, SAP).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively across organizational boundaries and levels.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and manage change.
- Initiative to exceed basic requirements and think strategically.
- Hands-on approach with a self-reliant and proactive attitude.
