Intellias is seeking a Defect Manager to join our automotive software delivery team on a long‑term project for a major automotive OEM. The project will be focused on the development of Connectivity components in the Android Platform, which will include the development of HAL and service layer components.
The role involves handling defect ticket management processes across multiple engineering teams and ensuring high‑quality defect handling.
Requirements:
Must have:
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams
- High resilience and ability to work under time pressure
- Structured approach and strong attention to detail
- Experience working with defect tracking tools like Jira or ALM Octane
- Ability to analyze system logs and identify defect patterns
- Ability to detect duplicate defects and ensure data consistency
- Good understanding of defect handling processes and workflows
- Basic understanding of modern vehicle functionality (e.g., infotainment, navigation, connectivity, driver‑assistance basics) and how users typically interact with in‑car software (from personal driving experience or active use of modern vehicles).
- Experience with reporting and KPI tracking
- English: Upper‑Intermediate level or higher
Nice to have:
- Prior experience and a valid license for ALM Octane tracking tool
- Experience in automotive or embedded software projects
- Ability to reproduce defects on test benches
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows
- Experience with Jira dashboard configuration
- Basic understanding of debugging and system investigation methods
- German: Intermediate
Responsibilities:
- Defect tickets pre‑analysis, categorization and assigning to the appropriate team/engineer
- Monitoring of all open defects in the relevant branches
- Close cooperation with the development team and other defect managers
- Sync of the project ticket trackers with team backlog
- Report the status of defect tickets
