  • Lufthansa Systems Poland is looking for a Database Engineer to support and maintain enterprise database platforms used across the Lufthansa Group. The role focuses on designing, operating and troubleshooting database environments that support critical business systems, with strong emphasis on stability, performance and availability.
  • In this role, you will be responsible for the ongoing support and operation of database services for corporate customers. Day to day work involves handling real production issues, from incidents and performance degradation to nonstandard problems in complex, distributed environments. This requires solid technical experience, fast root cause analysis and the ability to make decisions under pressure. The outcome of this work is reliable, stable database platforms supporting business critical airline systems.
  • You will be part of an experienced team that has been delivering database services for years, working close to production systems and dealing with challenges where ready made solutions often do not exist.

responsibilities :


  • Manage, optimize, and enhance SQL databases and Azure Database services.
  • Monitor performance, analyze execution plans, and fine-tune SQL for maximum efficiency.
  • Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions in Azure.
  • Develop and improve monitoring tools for full visibility and proactive issue detection.
  • Support end-to-end data migrations: planning, execution, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Promote and maintain strong security practices using RBAC and Entra ID.

requirements-expected :


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong experience with SQL and query performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Database services.
  • Solid understanding of backup and recovery strategies.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools or experience in building custom monitoring solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Linux, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Understanding of security, auditing, RBAC, and Entra ID.
  • Certification: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP‑300).
  • Readiness to work in a hybrid model: 2 days in the office in Gdańsk.
