Job Description:

We are looking for you, if you:

• are an ambitious DevOps Engineer with expertise in database administration who can add value based on your in-depth technical knowledge,
• are passionate, bring new ideas, open to suggestions, and are a great team player,
• have experience managing PostgreSQL in Azure Cloud with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options, performance tuning/optimization, backups, restores, and recoveries,
• have already processed a migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL in the cloud,
• have 5+ years of experience,
• possess good communication skills and openness to learn new skills,
• understand Infra/System reliability, resiliency, reusability, scalability, and fault tolerance/recovery,
• know Agile/Scrum practices, methodologies, and attitudes,
• have experience in automation scripting using one or more of the following languages: Perl, Ruby, Bash, Python, PowerShell,
• have experience with Monitoring and Alerting solutions (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Alert Manager),
• have experience with Oracle DB, Data Pump, Schema Refreshes, RMAN, cloning the database from Prod to Test environments, performance issues troubleshooting, analyzing AWR reports, rebuilding indexes, and defragmentation of tables, CDB – PDB architecture, RAC, Data Guard Architecture.

Your Responsibilities:

• be involved in the whole development life cycle (including our 97 databases) from refining user stories until monitoring software in production,
• manage the migration of databases from the Oracle environment to PostgreSQL in the cloud,
• collaborate closely within and across squads and with the consumer,
• help your team grow and think of ways to make solutions scalable and future-proof,
• search for and propose solutions using the newest technologies,
• design, develop, and implement continuous improvement processes through automation.
