Database Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to work for a client, a global supply chain solutions company with 160 years of experience in commodity trading, aiming to exert a positive economic and sustainable influence in its food, beverage, and energy supply chains.

You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the integrity and security of databases, including installing, upgrading, administering, and maintaining existing and new databases and instances.
- Undertaking performance monitoring and database tuning, which includes optimizing, indexing, managing slow-running queries, and handling memory management.
- Identifying, diagnosing, remediating, and troubleshooting database errors.
- Implementing up-to-date security measures and planning capacity based on best practices.
- Managing database validation, replication, scheduling, backup, recovery, and archiving.
- Extracting, preparing, and formatting data for business use.
- Reporting and implementing Power BI, ETL packages, and other packages into the data warehouse, data lake, or similar data storage/reporting environments.
- Developing and optimizing databases, data architecture (on-premises and Azure), ETL processes, reports, and analytics.
- Supporting Data Governance, including accuracy, consistency, security, and auditing.
- Collaborating with Dev Ops, Infrastructure, Data, and Development teams to achieve business objectives.
- Attending necessary training and complying with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Extensive professional experience with: SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Report Services, Microsoft Azure, Power BI report creation and service, DAX.
- Certification as an MCA Microsoft Azure Database Administrator.
- Proficiency in database administration and optimization.
- Expertise in data management, auditing, and cleansing.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Self-motivated with problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
