Overview
Data Scientist – In-Business Quality Assurance WCR at Citi. The ICM In-Business Quality Assurance function verifies that established standards and processes are followed and consistently applied, and uses QA results to assess the quality of policies, procedures, programs, and practices related to wholesale credit risk management.
We are looking for a high-caliber professional to join our team as Vice President, Data Scientist – In-Business Quality Assurance WCR based in Warsaw, Poland. The role involves extracting, transforming, and analyzing data to identify risks, assess controls, and improve robustness by implementing automated solutions. The role also contributes to the development of data-driven insights and reports for risk and controls.
This role reports to the ICM Head of In-Business Quality Assurance and Head of Data Analytics.
Responsibilities
- Support the In-Business Quality Assurance Head of Data Analytics to set the global strategy and lead the implementation and ongoing delivery of a robust data analytics and testing program for the Quality Assurance function as it relates to Wholesale Credit Risk data governance.
- Provide effective challenge on the design and operation of the data and credit processes within ICM and report gaps and concerns through quarterly reports to ICG senior management.
- Query and clean complex datasets from multiple sources to support advanced statistical analyses.
- Design, plan, prototype, productionize, deploy, maintain, and document reliable and scalable data science solutions; derive concrete insights and quantify business impact.
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyse model performance and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with IBQA teams and QA Directors to provide analytics insights.
- Provide oversight and guidance on complex data issues, structure potential solutions, and drive effective resolution with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in data analytics, modelling, analytics, internal audit, or similar functions at a bank (investment or large commercial).
- Strong understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk processes; ability to evaluate QA findings and drive remediation with business partners.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and elicit requirements and priorities.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills; ability to propose creative solutions and work with others to deliver results.
- Experience delivering end-to-end analytical processes and distilling data into actionable information; understanding of process redesign/re-engineering.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills for internal and external partners.
- Experience with end-to-end QA work, including identifying issues and presenting conclusions to senior stakeholders.
Technical
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (SQL, Python, R, Power BI, etc.); Python required.
- Ability to create clear reports and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Experience manipulating large datasets and identifying patterns, trends, and anomalies.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maths, Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
- Data Analysis: SQL; Python; SAS; R; Alteryx; Splunk.
- Visualization: Tableau; QlikView; MS Power BI.
- Programming: Python, Java, C++.
- Big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
