About the role

The Data Quality Analyst plays a pivotal role in unlocking the power of our Client’s data. He / She collaborates with key stakeholders across the organization to gather their needs, then dive deep into various data sources to extract valuable insights that inform business decisions across all LoBs and Business Functions. He / She supports the Data Quality Manager in the remediation process by analyzing, collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data sets to answer questions or solve problems related to Data Quality. The role of the Data Quality Analyst in collaborating with data stewards is essential to define data ownership and accountability for Critical Data Elements.

  • Extract, integrate, and manipulate data to build data pipelines, automate reports and dashboards, and empower internal stakeholders with self-service tools.
  • Own, design, develop, document, and manage scalable solutions for key metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that drive business success.
  • Develop queries and data visualizations to fulfill ad hoc requests, recurring reports, troubleshooting needs, and ongoing projects.

  • Work closely with Lines of Business (LOBs) and Business Units (BUs) to understand their analytical needs, identify critical metrics/KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to Data / Business owners.
  • Collect, merge, and clean data from diverse sources to prepare data for company’s Data Platform

Monitoring Critical Data Elements (CDEs):

  • Develop and implement automated processes to monitor the quality of CDEs in real-time (or near real-time). This could involve setting up thresholds and alerts for metrics like data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot root causes of CDE quality issues, working with data owners and stakeholders to resolve them.

Data Profiling:

  • Conduct data profiling exercises on new and existing data sets to understand their structure, content, and quality characteristics. This includes analyzing data types, value distributions, presence of missing values, outliers, and potential inconsistencies.
  • Use data profiling insights to define data quality rules and identify potential areas of risk or non-compliance with regulations
  • Leverage data profiling techniques to identify hidden patterns, trends, and relationships within the data that can be used to improve business processes and inform decision making
  • Document data profiling results and share them with relevant stakeholders to promote data understanding and usage
