The Data Protection Lead is part of the UK Data Privacy & Governance Team that forms part of UK COO organisation.

What the day will look like
In a UK DP&G Team, you will play a key role in shaping the Aon UK data protection framework. Demonstrating your communication and collaborator management skills, you will consult on and inspire changes and standards across business, risk, technology and other data collaborators.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the status of DP compliance and carries out the operational aspects of the mitigation plans to meet Aons DP requirements
- Works with BUs to maintain and update records of processing activities (RPA), conducts annual reviews in line with Aon procedures, ensures the development of RPAs for new business units and or new processing activities,
- Helps write and deliver privacy training across BUs /Shared Services as appropriate
- Assists in reviewing and updating privacy notices, policies and guidelines
- Collaborates with GSM/GSS in relation to UK high-risk supplier onboarding, review and monitoring
- Engage with the Data Privacy Champions to help them embed privacy culture and raise awareness across the business
- Work with the business to review Privacy Impact Assessments and flag risks to Data Protection Manager as appropriate.
- Contributes to monthly privacy reporting and dashboards
- Manages ICO registrations for UK legal entities and Scheme actuaries and collaborates with the GPO, Company Secretary and Finance to ensure timely renewals.
- Oversight and management of archive records (physical and digital) for UK held with Iron Mountain, supporting UK Business Governance Leader including monitoring and reporting on the status of archiving and destructions, escalating risks and issues and ensuring actions are progressed to conclusion.

- Sound experience of data protection and privacy regulations
- Understanding of privacy and data protection requirements and controls
- Experience of using OneTrust privacy software
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects
- Subject matter expert that influences the way things are done
- A strategic and results-oriented approach
- Experience in designing presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and senior partners, delivering key messages concisely
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
