We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Support Engineer to join a forward-thinking IT services company known for its expertise in managing sophisticated data platforms. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing data infrastructure for a diverse client base, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. You will handle escalated issues related to databases and data warehouses, collaborate closely with data teams, and contribute to ongoing improvements in data systems.
responsibilities :
Provide 3rd line support for escalated data-related issues, including database and data warehouse performance, data integrity, and ETL failures.
Act as a technical escalation point for unresolved data platform issues.
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot databases and related infrastructure.
Support and troubleshoot ETL processes and data integration pipelines.
Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure efficient data flow and transformation.
Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational runbooks.
Perform standard changes within the clients Change Management Process.
Use helpdesk and work tracking systems to maintain logs of support requests and incidents.
Communicate actively with clients regarding updates to incidents and changes.
Contribute to managing information security risks in alignment with compliance objectives.
Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure optimal client benefits
requirements-expected :
Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
Experience with ETL tools and processes (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow).
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to data platforms.
Good knowledge of Python and SQL.
Integrity and transparency in managing IT systems.
Experience in remote helpdesk-based IT support with a focus on 3rd line troubleshooting.
Ability to handle a range of issues with custom applications and third-party systems.
Familiarity with operational runbooks and service management processes, including change and incident management.
Proficiency in English, preferably at a C1 level, for effective communication in a global environment.
