Responsibilities
Responsible for cascading down IWPB and GPB data strategy to Private Bank Luxembourg (PBLU) and execute against the vision for PBLU, as well as augment the data governance standards.
Support GPB Head of Data in defining PBLU local data priorities, promoting data governance and implementing data quality in the Resilience Risk framework with BSOs, ITSOs and SMEs.
Define, document and maintain business terms, data definitions, technical metadata, lineage and application specifications in the appropriate data management tools.
Engage with relevant stakeholders to identify and review PBLU data quality requirements, propose and implement relevant data quality rules and thresholds, and ensure local business owners are identified to be accountable for data quality issues.
Engage with relevant Business and IT SMEs to manage and prioritize root‑cause analysis and remediation of data quality issues.
Run the Market Data Forum to govern, communicate and review critical data programmes/initiatives, data management activities, risks and issues.
Define control procedures and guidelines, support PBLU COO on Risk Control Assessments ensuring appropriate levels of control are in place to manage data.
Mobilize, prioritize and oversee data initiatives in PBLU and other PB EMEA markets, provide relevant communication to build awareness of data requirements and objectives, and champion a data‑driven culture in the local market, encouraging transparency, consistency and trust in data.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a data governance, data management, data risk and control role, or alternative experience in cross‑functional roles such as data architecture.
- In-depth understanding of data governance, quality, cyber security and compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial services such as banking, wealth management and capital markets, and core banking applications such as Avaloq supporting banking business processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a proven record of effective project management, including planning, decision making and bringing projects to successful completion in a timely manner while maintaining high standards and quality.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; articulate, diplomatic, strategic thinker, visionary, persuasive, able to negotiate and manage conflicts, with a capacity to understand high‑level strategy while engaging in detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and extensive experience dealing directly with data management.
- Experience in data management and analytics tools such as Collibra, Alteryx, Tableau is a plus.
