PALMS is a post trade monitoring system that helps to monitor Global Markets trades against Market Risk mandates in terms of permitted instruments and trading restrictions. The main responsibilities of members of this team include: implementing requests within PALMS database (SQL) related to various PALMS functionalities, responding to technical user queries, troubleshooting PALMS system issues, testing new system developments, rolling out PALMS to new sites, supporting other work streams such as illiquid product reporting functionality, internal product classification of trades within a central data store, integration with hierarchy management system (HMS).
Members of this team work closely with system developers, Product Control teams, Market Risk Management and Independent Model Review.
responsibilities :
Providing day to day support to PALMS users and assisting in the building collaborative relationships between Analytics and the business.
Responding to ad hoc queries, implementing BAU requests within PALMS database (SQL) related to permitted instrument, trading restriction, hierarchy changes, troubleshooting, supporting regulatory programme deliveries.
Providing assistance to PALMS Development team for the releases of new versions of PALMS which includes testing developments in UAT and DEV environments and providing developers with feedback and potential enhancements where appropriate.
Assisting PALMS roll-out to satellite sites: working with MRM to obtain mandates, book mappings, developing Permitted Instrument and Trading Restriction monitoring, building and testing full PALMS functionality, resolving issues, providing training.
Assisting with any developments related to Internal Product work stream and building new links with HMS and DSL systems. Working with system architects to implement any required changes.
Raising and/or implementing design and performance enhancements in the system.
Knowledge of SQL is mandatory.
Problem solving - investigation of queries and issues as well as longer term strategic objectives and ability to come up with innovative solutions.
requirements-expected :
University graduate from a reputed institution in financial, business or economic subject or university graduate in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Accounting or similar.
Excellent written English and oral communication skills. The job holder will have daily contact with PALMS users (Product Control, Market Risk), PALMS teams in other sites and GVG Senior Management and therefore require excellent communication skills in addition with outstanding technical ones.
Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
