We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to work on implementing a new data platform for a new Annual Motor Insurance Product. The platform will operate within a Lakehouse environment, utilizing medallion architecture in Microsoft Fabric. The candidate will collaborate with the Director of IT and Business Intelligence Analysts to gather motor insurance data from various sources, aid in the design of Lakehouse and warehouse table schemas, oversee and improve data quality, and ensure the project adheres to Data Governance standards. This position is crucial for delivering management information and reporting for the new Annual insurance product and supplying essential data to the Pricing, Underwriting, and Fraud teams.

You will be responsible for:

• Applying the medallion architecture to organize data layers (Bronze, Silver, Gold) within the Lakehouse, ensuring progressive enhancement of data quality.
• : Developing scalable and secure data storage solutions that align with the medallion architecture principles.
• Constructing and maintaining robust data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation, and consolidation.
• Upholding high standards of data governance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and data privacy laws.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the company to understand data requirements and delivering insights that drive strategic decisions.

Requirements:      

• Proficiency in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Apache Spark or Databricks as data processing engines.
• Strong experience with Lakehouse patterns and medallion architecture in data engineering.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services and other relevant data management tools, including Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Data Factory.
• Fluency in English (at least B2 level).
