Project scope

Our client is a NASDAQ-listed company that provides a range of solutions to support Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies. They offer a comprehensive B2B database platform that enables sales and marketing professionals to identify, connect with, and engage qualified prospects effectively.
The core mission of our client is to equip every company with a complete, 360-degree view of their ideal customer, enhancing every phase of their GTM strategy and boosting their success in achieving business targets.

Tech stack

Big Query, Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Airflow, Fivetran, Atlan, GitHub, Terraform, Jenkins, Tableau, Monte Carlo, Amplitude, Databricks, various data sources (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, many others)

Challenges

1. Develop a unified, accessible data platform as a single source of truth for analytics and reporting across a multi-cloud environment.
2. Transition parts of the data platform to a decentralised Data Mesh approach to improve agility and scalability.

Team

This team is composed of two data engineers from VirtusLab and three data engineers from the customer side. The team also includes a manager, business analysts, and product owners.


  • Strong SQL skills
  • Hands-on experience with Python or an equivalent programming language
  • Experience with data warehouse solutions (like BigQuery/ Redshift/ Snowflake)
  • Experience with data modeling, data catalog concepts, data formats, data pipelines/ETL design, implementation and maintenance
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree – preferably CS, Engineering/ Information Systems, or other equivalent Software Engineering background
  • 6+ years of experience as a Data/BI engineer
  • Ability to work in an agile environment, partnering with team members and peers to find solutions to challenging problems with transparency
  • Experience with AWS/GCP cloud services such as GCS/S3, Lambda/Cloud Function, EMR/Dataproc, Glue/Dataflow, Athena
  • Experience with data visualization tools and infrastructures (like Tableau/SiSense/Looker/other) – Advantage
  • Experience with development practices – Agile, CI/CD, TDD – Advantage
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices – Terraform – Advantage
