Our Business Intelligence / Transparency team within Bayers global Strategy & Transformation department is driving data based decision making and automation for the IT Eco System.
In the role of Data Engineer you are the go-to-person for Global Enabling Function IT Strategy & Transformation data. You will ensure reliable access to various data sources and enable implementation of data & analytics use cases. The role will provide varied challenges, that require both technical and soft skills in international teams.
responsibilities :
Evaluate, plan and implement data & analytics use cases with senior positions and use case owners.
Support identification of improvement potential for (Quality) Processes with focus on data.
Manage data ingestion, data requests for team and ensure defined data management processes are applied and projects follow the F.A.I.R. data principles.
Collaborate with other data architects (e.g. responsible for R&D and/or financial data), analytics leads, data scientists in order to reuse data and ensure sustainable pipelines and analytical products are built.
Lead the integration of different data sources in order to develop globally harmonized data models & KPIs meeting the market requirements .

requirements-expected :
Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar.
3+ years working experience in the field of Data & Analytics, preferably in regulated environments.
profound data architecture & technology knowledge, data engineering (Azure Cloud Services, in particular Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Key Vaults, Blob Storage, Databricks, plus Snowflake, potentially also legacy stack SAP Hana, Python, R).
Excellent and extensive SQL knowledge.
Profound knowledge of Git / Github; In particular how to design and operate CI/CD workflows based on Github actions.
Profound knowledge on how to design, to develop, and to deploy Microsoft database projects incl. use of tools like Azure DevOps and Microsoft Goals.
Profound data content knowledge in the respective business area.
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a fast-paced environment..
Problem solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgement.
Interpersonal and communication skills, active listening, consulting, challenging, presentation skills.
Basic understanding of IT / IT quality processes, as well as of process improvement frameworks (i.e. ISO, ITIL, Cobit, Six Sigma).
Education: degree in Business, Science, IT or equivalent knowledge.
English: fluent (both written and spoken).
Ability to collaborate and partner in international / cross functional teams.
