Job description

Position Overview: As a Senior Data Vault Architect, you will take a leadership role in designing and building scalable data models and architectures using the Data Vault 2.0 methodology. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and stakeholders, to understand data needs and deliver robust, optimized solutions using Snowflake and DBT. Your expertise will guide the development of data lakes, data transformation workflows, and automated loading processes that support key business decisions and insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts and key stakeholders to understand business needs, data requirements, and to ensure alignment between business goals and data architecture.
• Data Modeling: Design and develop conceptual, Raw, and Business Data Vault models that capture high-level business entities, attributes, and relationships using Snowflake.
• Data Profiling & Quality Assurance: Conduct in-depth data profiling and analysis to identify data quality issues and proactively address challenges in the modeling process.
• Data Vault Implementation: Architect and implement Data Vault models, including hubs, satellites, and links, ensuring they align with business processes and data requirements.
• Automation & Optimization: Lead the creation of automated data loading processes and patterns using DBT to reduce development time and operational costs.
• End-to-End Data Transformation: Oversee data engineering workflows, leading the design and management of data transformation pipelines in DBT within the Snowflake environment.
• Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze and interpret data stored in Snowflake to identify business trends, generate insights, and make recommendations for business optimization.
• Documentation & Best Practices: Ensure clear documentation of data models, processes, and workflows while adhering to industry best practices for data modeling, performance, and scalability.
• Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 12+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Data Vault 2.0, dimensional modeling, and design patterns.
• Data Vault Expertise: Deep experience in designing and developing Raw and Business Data Vault models, including hubs, satellites, and links.
• Snowflake Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Snowflake architecture and modeling best practices.
• DBT Experience: Strong expertise in using DBT to automate data workflows and Data Vault processes.
• SQL Skills: Expert-level proficiency in SQL for data manipulation, transformation, and retrieval.
• Analytical Thinking: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to address complex data challenges.
• Collaboration Skills: Ability to work independently while also collaborating with technical and non-technical teams to drive project success.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data modeling concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
