About the project

In Cyclad, we work with top international IT companies in order to boost their potential in delivering outstanding, cutting-edge technologies that shape the world of the future. We are looking for an experienced DBT + Airflow Architect to join a global engineering team and lead the migration of ETL processes from Informatica PowerCenter to a modern on-premise Airflow + dbt ecosystem. This is a senior/expert-level position for someone who can take full architectural ownership of data pipelines, define standards, and shape the future-state ETL platform for one of the worlds leading financial institutions.

Your responsibilities

  • Define and own the architecture for the Airflow + dbt on-prem platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and best practices
  • Lead the migration of legacy PowerCenter workflows into a modern, modular ETL/ELT framework
  • Design and supervise the development of dbt models, Airflow DAGs, and orchestration logic
  • Create architectural guidelines, coding standards, and governance frameworks
  • Build and refine ETL frameworks, ensuring quality, stability, and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with global engineering, infrastructure, and security teams
  • Apply Infrastructure-as-Code principles with Terraform, Docker, OCI
  • Drive technical excellence and proactively propose architectural improvements
  • Ensure security, compliance, and resilience across the entire data platform

Our requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience, including 8 years of hands-on with dbt
  • Expert knowledge of Apache Airflow, dbt, ETL/ELT patterns, and orchestration
  • Very strong skills in SQL and performance optimization
  • Practical experience with HashiCorp Terraform, Docker, IaC, automation, and DevOps principles
  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Strong experience in designing and implementing ETL frameworks
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • (Nice to have) Experience with Informatica PowerCenter
