We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Data Governance Specialist to support a project focused on improving data governance, metadata management and data quality processes within an enterprise data environment.

The role will involve working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Microsoft Purview, helping to improve metadata management, data lineage visibility and data quality monitoring across business domains.

This is a remote contract role with a duration of approximately 16 weeks (0.5 FTE).

Data Analyst - Data Governance Analyst (Snowflake/Purview)

Your responsibilities

• Support implementation and configuration of Microsoft Purview for data catalog, data lineage and metadata management
• Perform gap analysis and design solutions for metadata, data catalog and governance processes
• Co-create and structure a business glossary to ensure consistent KPI definitions across the organization
• Work with business stakeholders and SMEs to define and document key business terms and calculation logic
• Support automated metadata collection and improve integration with existing systems
• Redesign and refine the conceptual data model for corporate data structures
• Improve data quality frameworks and support implementation of mechanisms for monitoring data quality metrics
• Contribute to improving dashboard transparency by introducing data quality scoring in Power BI
• Support architecture improvements to enhance system responsiveness and data access performance

Our requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in data analytics, data governance or data platform environments
• Strong experience with Snowflake
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview (data catalog / lineage / metadata management)
• Experience with data modeling and metadata management concepts
• Experience working with business glossary and data governance frameworks
• Understanding of data quality processes and monitoring mechanisms
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and domain experts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in distributed teams
• Experience with Power BI
• Experience working with Redis or caching architectures
• Experience with metadata automation or data lineage implementation
• Experience with Databricks environments
