This hybrid position ensures compliant, timely handling of customs formalities (for the import, export, and transit of goods) while also supporting the day-to-day planning and execution of transport operations. You act as the link between internal parties, forwarding agents, the warehouse, production site and customs authorities, ensuring high service levels.
Tasks
Customs (50%)
- Prepare and follow up on import, export, and transit declarations
- Review customs files for compliance with applicable regulations (documents, certificates, etc.)
- Resolve customs-related incidents, and provide proactive solutions
- Ensure accurate administration and compliant reporting of customs warehouse and inward processing activities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial processing of customs activities
- Classify goods under the correct commodity code (HS/TARIC) and apply accurate customs valuation and origin rules
- Prepare reports
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform internal controls in line with AEO requirements
- Contribute to the continuous optimization of our customs processes, including drafting and updating work instructions
- Handle customs related queries from internal and external stakeholders
Logistics (50%)
- Support load planning from our production site to the central warehouse
- Organize road transportation and express shipments from production site to customers
- Collaboration with production site and external logistics partners
- Support continuous improvement in transport processes and KPI performance
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as all-round customs declarant
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, including import, export, transit, and special regimes such as customs warehouse and inward processing (certification is a strong asset)
- Solid understanding of shipping documentation and Incoterms
- Experience with Stream Software is a strong advantage
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written, knowledge of German is a plus
