Credit Controller – Farnell Global

About the Role
As a Credit Controller you will be accountable for the day‑to‑day support of credit management and collections, maximising cash collection, minimising credit risk and maintaining audit standards for the business. You will protect and maximise the company’s investments through effective management of your own sales ledger, coordinate and drive outstanding collections and promote excellent customer service with a proactive and solution‑focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Support the business receivables by reviewing old balances on the accounts and investigating.
- Ensure that fraud risk, credit risk and trade compliance risks are effectively managed in accordance with business specifications, identify, monitor and communicate risks to stakeholders and take appropriate actions.
- Compile, analyse and interpret information to facilitate the approval of credit facilities or make onward recommendations.
- Recommend process improvements and support the credit management team with testing and rollout of new or changed processes.
- Ensure company compliance and audit requirements, including Credit Management Policy and DOAM, are met at all times.
- Review orders on hold and release where possible.
- Manage case queries for your allocated ledger, ensuring timely action or referral to relevant parties.
- Provide support to other Credit Control team members for incoming cases, held orders, absence cover and other ad‑hoc duties as required.
Qualifications
- Fluency in French (written and oral) and English.
- Experience in credit control within a B2B environment.
- Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic working environment.
- Experience with multiple currencies.
- Understanding of sales ledger processes and their business impact.
- Strong communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise workload and cover team members when needed.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- IT literacy with experience in cloud‑based CRM platforms is an advantage.
