CONTROLLERS

Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firms business. Controllers also ensure that the firms activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets. Were a team of specialists charged with managing the firm’s liquidity, capital, and risk, and providing the overall financial control and reporting functions. YOUR IMPACT

We’re looking for a professional individual who wants to apply their financial market knowledge and develop their understanding of regulatory reform at the heart of the financial markets. With the continued high rate of change in the regulatory reporting space, Regulatory Position Reporting professionals have the platform to significantly impact their environment and the wider business. Our team is seeking a professional who will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure firm’s compliance across obligations and to improve the reporting processes.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  1. Develop extensive subject matter expertise in major European regulations (e.g. ESMA Short Sell Reporting, EMEA Major Shareholder, London Takeover Panel, MIFID)
  2. Execute key risk and control processes to ensure compliance with non-financial regulatory reporting obligations, including monitoring and adherence to intra-day and week deadlines
  3. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders in the business, Engineering, Compliance and Legal to support reporting functions
  4. Consult on business and functional projects to facilitate compliant commercial activity
  5. Delve into complex system infrastructure to understand impact of data flows and booking models on reporting quality
  6. Leverage data analytical and automation tools to detect anomalies in reporting data and improve reporting processes
  7. Design and lead the implementation of solutions to deliver best-in-class system and control frameworks quality
  8. Train and motivate colleagues to achieve personal and departmental business and risk targets.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree with experience in financial services
  2. Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows paired with meticulous attention to detail
  3. Must have strong communication skills to clearly articulate issues and ideas, provide timely escalation
  4. Good interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  5. Self-motivated team player who has strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities within deadlines
  6. Understanding of financial markets, regulatory landscape and associated processes
  7. Understanding of financial, operational, reputational risk
  8. Understanding of financial products, such as equities, exchange traded derivatives, OTC derivatives is an advantage
  9. Working knowledge of project management and business analysis is an advantage
  10. Interest in data analysis, process automation, big data or non-technical process efficiencies is an advantage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience with regulatory reporting and monitoring, e.g. ESMA Short Sell Reporting, EMEA Major Shareholder, London Takeover Panel, MIFID
  2. Working knowledge of trade lifecycle
  3. Working knowledge of tradable financial products, e.g. equities, exchange traded derivatives, OTC derivatives
  4. Working knowledge of financial, operational, reputational risk
  5. Experience with Excel, Tableau and Alteryx
  6. Regulatory rule review and interpretation experience would be a plus.
