Job Description

The Contract Senior Specialist will facilitate the development and execution of a variety of third-party commercial contracts in accordance with our client’s policies and procedures, applicable laws, and other requirements. This is a non-attorney position.

The primary categories of contract expertise are IT, Marketing, Facilities, Logistics, and Corporate and Professional Service.

Key Responsibilities

1. Draft and negotiate Agreements based on both client templates and supplier templates.
2. Prepare and disseminate information regarding contract status, compliance, modifications, etc.
3. Consult and escalate positioning issues which are not solved satisfactorily by the project team in a timely manner.
4. Act as the primary contact between the project team and/or business unit and corporate legal counsel, ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly.
5. Issue necessary modifications to clarify questions concerning such topics as specification changes, language ambiguities, or clarification of contract clauses.
6. Assist with training and coaching to other contract specialists on legal review and interpretation.
7. Ensure that all contracts and agreements are filed in the contract repository.
8. Maintain and update contract databases and disseminate information as appropriate.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelors degree (Law) or equivalent experience.
2. Significant experience working with a variety of contract types, including preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contract processes.
3. 5 years of relevant work experience.
4. Past experience with drafting agreements in IT, Marketing, Professional Services, Facilities, MRO.
5. Fluent in English and German (C1).
6. Paralegal certificate a plus, but not required.
7. Must be able to clearly state and convey legal positions.
8. Prior experience working in IT or Financial Services industry is an advantage.
9. Knowledge and understanding of the procurement industry is an advantage.
10. Experience with contract reporting necessary.
11. Experience responding to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations and redlines revisions.
12. Demonstrated leadership skills in a team setting.
13. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
14. Ability to travel up to 10%.
