We’re looking for a Content Editor for a truly out-of-this-world project. Our client, the European Space Agency, currently maintains two websites that serve as a significant source of scientific information, data, and results from its scientific missions. The goal of the project is to implement a new website and migrate content from these two websites to the new one. To achieve this goal, a team of content editors will review and prepare the content for migration, while the development team will implement the new website.

Formal requirements

• Relevant degree (e.g., English philology, linguistics, translation, science communication, science journalism, or a related field) and/or native-level English proficiency
• Minimum 3 years of experience editing and proofreading scientific or technical texts
• Nice to have: experience working with research institutions, ESA, NASA, universities, or science media outlets
  
  

Language and editorial skills

• Full proficiency in scientific English, including typical structures, terminology, and academic style
• Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts without losing factual accuracy
• Strong skills in editing for logic, clarity, and scientific storytelling
• Comfortable working with source materials (reports, publications, satellite data, etc.)
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency of terminology
• Understanding of the differences between popular-science and technical writing styles
  
  

SEO and online publishing

• Working knowledge of SEO (keywords, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking, semantic structure)
• Ability to balance SEO requirements with scientific rigor and readability
• Experience preparing content for online publication (CMS use, formatting, linking, metadata)
