Would you like to engage with financial crime compliance and support a dynamic, international team? Would you like to leave your positive mark on the projects Danske Bank is delivering? In SAR Operational Excellence, a project‑based team within the Suspicious Activity Reporting Office (SARO) department, we are looking for two compliance officers to join our team in Warsaw.

We are recruiting for fixed‑term positions; details regarding the duration of employment and the nature of the contract will be shared during the recruitment process.

SAR Operational Excellence works across two distinct streams:

  • One stream focuses on setting the standard for financial crime‑related oversight and controls, ensuring clear processes for investigators through standard operating procedures, and managing SARO’s key risks through the secretariat.
  • The other stream focuses on continuous improvements, driving innovative strategic initiatives, and developing efficiencies, such as automation.

Based on your skills and expertise, you will contribute to either one of these streams, taking ownership of key tasks and supporting the team’s goals.

Your role

You will have a significant role in projects and initiatives aimed at improving the SARO investigation flow and advancing our compliance framework. These positions offer the opportunity to work at the intersection of regulatory oversight, process innovation, and organizational transformation.

Depending on your experience, your primary tasks will be centred either around governance & compliance, or process optimisation & transformation. In both roles you will work at the intersection of regulatory oversight, process innovation, and risk management.

Governance & compliance stream

  • Support risk assessments and the review of governing documents.
  • Develop the oversight framework for the bank’s lines of defence.
  • Host and support the Governance Forum.
  • Manage critical documentation, ensuring adequate oversight of controls.
  • Engage in recurring compliance tasks, reporting, and stakeholder management.

Efficiency & transformation stream

  • Drive process improvement, automation, and digital transformation projects.
  • Participate in organisational transformation initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of new operating models and efficiency measures.
  • Lead and contribute to cross‑functional projects.

Your profile

In your daily tasks, you will collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders at various levels, so you should be willing to present your ideas and viewpoints while maintaining a constructive and positive attitude.

While having support from your team and leader, we still expect you to be proactive and resourceful, being able to own and drive multiple initiatives.

Other experience and skills you should possess include:

  • +2 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk, or project management;
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills;
  • Fluency in English (Polish or Nordic language skills are a plus).

For the governance/compliance profile, experience with risk assessments, policy management, controls, and regulatory reporting is highly valued.

For the efficiency/transformation profile, experience with process optimisation, digital tools, automation, or project management will be particularly important.
