The Compensation Group Manager is accountable for management of complex, critical, and large professional disciplinary areas. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions and strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses or geographic regions. Accountable for the end results of an area, exercises control over resources, policy formulation, and planning, and is involved in short‑to‑medium‑term planning of actions and resources for own area.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and executing the reporting and associated analytics of Citi’s compensation plans, including Base Salary and Incentive Compensation.
- Expected to interact with Senior HR Compensation and Finance professionals to review monthly variations and trends in compensation plans and associated accruals.
- Applies specific functional expertise in Compensation principles, practices and procedures in the completion of complex assignments; may be responsible for designing and implementing plans for a function or business unit globally; may develop strategy that has notable impact on compensation end results.
- Apply domain and technical knowledge to implement or improve reporting delivery mechanisms while simplifying and standardizing outputs.
- Perform compensation and people analytics to deliver improvements on compensation programs and process improvements.
- Coordinate annual compensation process for salary review, bonuses, and other recognitions.
- Apply expertise in compensation principles, practices and procedures to conduct compensation and benefits programs.
- Manage multiple projects across multiple work streams.
- Provide ongoing training to compensation and HR generalist teams on variety of compensation subjects.
- Provide consultation and respond to inquiries from HR generalists and business managers on compensation, recognition‑related issues and process improvements.
- Liaise with global, senior HR officials to ensure data quality, integrity and consistency during compensation analysis and program transitions.
Qualifications:
- Proven presentation skills, capable of managing conversations at senior level.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated and detail oriented.
- Proven analytics skills.
- 8+ years of experience.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Excel. Working knowledge in MS Access.
- Experience with reporting tools MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI or similar.
- Experience with Workday a plus.
- Experience performing analytics in Python a plus.
- Bachelor’s or University degree; Master’s degree preferred.
