Role Purpose

  • COE programs/processes/policies support the attraction and retention of the number and type of talent required to execute corporate strategy.
  • COE programs/processes/policies establish and reinforce Corning Values and positive work environment, while complying with all legal, regulatory, and collective bargaining agreement requirements.
  • COE key stakeholders fully understand the value, benefit, and use of COE programs/processes/policies. Ensures standards, policies, union contract application, and guidelines are understood and consistently applied.
  • Financial decisions and recommendations support top quartile cost performance objectives while maintaining appropriate levels of HR service delivery.
  • Compensation programs are aligned with Corning’s overall Total Reward philosophy and framework.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop excellent working relationships with region-wide business unit and plant HR, Shared Services, and other HR Centers of Excellence (COEs).
  • Responsible for completion of annual salary and benefits survey submission process, and the development and recommendations for EMEA salary ranges. You will also collaborate with and provide guidance to plant HR on hourly wage structures.
  • Assist other Compensation Center of Excellence team members with annual salary review processes for employees by providing testing, business and plant HR training, and end process data analysis.
  • Provide ad hoc compensation analysis work when requested by BUHR or COE.
  • Provide “in‑house consultant” services to Plant HR managers, Shared Services, Employee Relations COE, and Talent Acquisition COE around compensation analysis, progressions, and job analysis.
  • Ownership of Recognizing Excellence – Corning’s peer‑to‑peer recognition program.
  • Obtain functional knowledge related to compensation and benefits in areas of compliance, legal, and audit.
  • Ensure that the governance and administration of various compensation and benefits programs are in compliance with established guidelines, processes, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Implement/deliver new programs or training to our business HR units.
  • Partner with the COE Communications Manager to develop training/communication materials.

Required Education/Experience

  • HR professional with 2–3 years of experience in compensation and/or benefits. HR generalists who have gained this experience through leading projects in these areas will also be considered.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or plant is essential.
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (we use SuccessFactors) and familiarity with other compensation applications/vendors is expected.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural agility as part of a global team is important.
  • A high‑energy, results‑focused team player with proven analytical, MS Excel, and communication skills, inquisitive nature, quick learning ability, and willingness to embrace new experiences.
