For one of our clients in the automotive sector, we are looking for a: Commodity Buyer
We are seeking a strategic and analytical Commodity Buyer to join the purchasing team and support the development of a global supplier base. If you have experience in procurement, especially in the automotive industry, and want to work in a dynamic, international company, this opportunity is for you.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commodity strategies aligned with company goals
- Build and manage a global supplier panel according to automotive standards
- Lead cross‑functional projects with departments such as Quality, Legal, Finance, and Development
- Analyze supplier capabilities, conduct audits, and create supplier development roadmaps
- Develop cost models and drive efficiency initiatives
- Negotiate and manage framework agreements with key suppliers
- Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and contractual terms
- Handle RFQs, supplier capacity planning, and performance monitoring
- Support project buyers during negotiations and supplier‑related crises
Requirements
- Proven experience in commodity or strategic purchasing, preferably in the automotive sector
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
- Experience in supplier development and contract management
- Knowledge of procurement processes and cost modeling
- Ability to manage cross‑functional projects in a global environment
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
- Familiarity with quality standards (ISO9001, IATF16949) is a plus
