Commissioning Engineer (Power Plant Project)
About the Job
EPC Partners Inc. is seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning works for a 35MW geothermal power plant project in Menengai, Nakuru, Kenya. This is a project-based assignment ideal for professionals with solid background in power plant commissioning—particularly in geothermal, steam-field, or combined-cycle environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely commissioning of plant systems, working closely with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Review and validate commissioning procedures, test documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
- Perform functional tests, operational checks, and system readiness verifications.
- Monitor safety compliance during all commissioning stages.
- Prepare daily reports, test records, punch lists, and final commissioning documentation.
- Support handover activities and ensure system acceptance by the client.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of commissioning experience in power plants.
- Geothermal plant experience is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of steam turbine, BOP, and auxiliary system commissioning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related).
- Ability to work on-site in Kenya for the full duration of the project.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams.
Work Conditions
- On-site assignment for the full duration (Jan–Mar 2026).
- Willing to work extended hours during critical startup phases.
