Overview

We are going through an exciting period of change and are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Data Platform Team. You will work as part of our exciting greenfield tech hub covering all facets of technology within Kingfisher. You will be responsible for the delivery of continuous quality software using DevOps practices and principles focused on an Infrastructure delivery model. You will be expected to be actively pairing to share knowledge, make key decisions, whilst enabling the delivery teams progress around all aspects from individual growth, service improvements and future strategies.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

1. Drive automation in all technical areas.
2. Help to maintain and improve stability of the Data Platform as well as drive decision making in effectively and efficiently influence scalability.
3. Supporting the Design and delivery of pipelines and paths to production.
4. Working closely with the Tech Lead, Product Owner and scrum masters to create, deliver and support the platform in line with our infrastructure strategy.
5. Reviewing automation in technical areas and recommend improvements.
6. Creation and ongoing ownership of the platform common standards and practices.
7. Work closely with Data Engineers with exposure to Data Lake and Data Warehouse.

What youll bring

Required Skills & Experience

1. A strong background and working knowledge of Data engineering.
2. A strong technical background in build and release environments, with experience of CI tools such as Gitlab, Azure DevOps Pipelines.
3. Good programming skills in Shell.
4. Infrastructure as a code using Terraform/Ansible.
5. ADF Pipeline optimisation.
6. Azure Databricks administration (Understanding of Cluster management, monitoring etc).
7. Azure Cloud management for core services.
8. A good understanding and any experience of monitoring tools like DataDog.

Nice to have

1. A good understanding of Kafka or any other Spark Implementation.
2. Powershell.
3. Bicep.
