Your career opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Cloud Database Administrator. You will be a key part of the team managing the bank databases on both on prem and Azure cloud.
What you’ll do
• Working with key Software Delivery and Enterprise Services stakeholders around the business / local & global teams
• Managing databases on MS Azure public cloud (Azure SQL)
• Maintenance and management of SQL cluster environments.
• Data modelling, data masking, database maintenance, backup and restore
• Monitoring and optimizing performance in Azure SQL
• Managing HSBC Data De-Identification (Data Masking) to HSBC standards
• Managing the SQL job scheduling
• Writing database & client documentation, including procedures and definitions for customer environment specifics.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Solid experience working with Azure SQL
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
• Azure Synapse Knowledge and hands on experience
• Proven ability to provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL (managed instances and databases).
• Proven ability to implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Azure SQL
• Proven experience with data lakes and warehousing
• Proven experience of monitoring and optimizing database performance using Azure monitoring tools.
• Proven experience of writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata).
