Client Service & Fund Accounting Team Supervisor (Alternative Investments)
Brown Brothers Harriman is recruiting a Supervisor in Client Service & Fund Accounting to join the Alternative Investments department. The role manages a small team of financial professionals, prepares and reviews NAV reporting packages, and contributes to end‑to‑end processes for clients. As a people manager, the Supervisor motivates, instructs, and monitors colleague performance.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and/or review of monthly/quarterly/annual deliverables such as Net Asset Value reporting pack.
- Monitoring and review of fund activities in the accounting system.
- Independent review of work prepared by team members ensuring accuracy, timeliness and completeness of deliverables.
- Supporting team leader in communication with clients and external auditors on a regular basis.
- Ensuring timely and accurate responses to any queries.
- Developing and maintaining strong familiarity with accounting standards (i.e. Lux GAAP).
- Coaching and developing team members, providing feedback via periodic meetings and engaging in the performance appraisal process.
- Promotion of positive team atmosphere through leadership, effective communication and professionalism.
- Assisting in special projects to improve efficiency, quality and accuracy of work performed by the team.
- Ensuring adherence to all established procedures, best practices and internal controls.
Desired Qualifications
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in accounting / financial reporting / finance related area.
- Primary degree in finance or accounting related discipline, and/or equivalent work experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of accounting practices and standards.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and self‑motivated.
- Pro‑active, mature and able to work with respect to the previously agreed timeline.
- An entrepreneurial spirit who is confident working with limited direct supervision.
- Strong experience in managing, mentoring and coaching staff.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Computer literate with strong Excel skills.
- Fluency in English.
