We’re looking for a Claims & Cost Management Coordinator to take ownership of monitoring project‑related costs and managing claims with customers and suppliers. In this role, you will act as a key link between operational teams and senior management, ensuring that any deviations, additional services, or disruptions are properly evaluated and followed up. This position requires a good mix of hands‑on problem‑solving, financial and legal understanding, and strategic thinking.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement claims strategies in cooperation with the executive board
  • Monitor and assess reported deviations, additional services, and project disruptions based on input from departments such as Production, Quality, Project Management, and Customer Service
  • Track and analyze reported costs, especially quality-related (e.g., rework, scrap) and downtime costs (e.g., production stoppages due to supplier delays)
  • Support Quality and Procurement teams in enforcing cost claims against suppliers
  • Advise departments on the economic justification of claims and assist in negotiations
  • Participate actively in contract negotiations and risk assessments
  • Prepare clear and actionable reports for the executive board
  • Help develop and regularly update the company’s claims management policy
  • Represent the company in discussions with external partners regarding claims and disputes

Our requirements:

  • University degree in Industrial Engineering, Law, Management, or a related field
  • Proven 3 years of experience in claims or contract management, preferably involving suppliers
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities
  • Knowledge of contract law (e.g., BGB, VOB, international standards)
  • Experience working on technically complex projects and cross‑functional collaboration
  • Proactive and solution‑oriented approach in dispute situations

Optional:

  • Familiarity with SAP, MS Project, and document management systems
  • Knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, or similar international contract standards
  • Experience working in international environments or with foreign suppliers
  • Certifications in project or contract management (e.g., PMP, Prince2, IACCM)
  • Good command of German
