Chief Marketing Officer (startups)
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities.
- Drive the development of a cohesive and profitable marketing plan
- Ensure the company’s brand message is consistently distributed across all channels and to targeted audiences to meet sales objectives.
- Take ownership of the company's brand and narrative, ensuring it resonates with our target demographic and stands out in the competitive landscape.
- Conduct market research to identify challenges and opportunities for growth.
- Analyze market trends and competitors’ strategies to adjust the marketing plan as necessary.
- Oversee the company's digital marketing efforts, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, social media, and online advertising campaigns.
- Leverage analytics to optimize campaign performance and improve ROI on digital marketing investments.
- Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring resources are allocated optimally to achieve marketing goals and objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and creative thinking among team members.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to refine marketing strategies and achieve better market penetration and customer engagement.
Our requirements
- Proven experience as a CMO, Marketing Director, or another senior marketing role, preferably within a startup or high-growth environment.
- Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing strategies across multiple channels.
- Strong understanding of market research techniques, data analysis, and statistics.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to navigate the fast-paced, changing landscape of a startup.
- Proficiency in marketing automation and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM software, Mailchimp or HubSpot).
- Proven track record of managing marketing budgets and leveraging financial and analytical tools to monitor operational performance and evaluate decisions.
- A portfolio that demonstrates experience with growth hacking techniques to rapidly scale business operations in a cost-effective manner.
- Experience in partnership development, negotiating and managing contracts with vendors and partners.
- High level of initiative, passion for innovation, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills – able to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to various marketing and business challenges.
- A strong network within the business and marketing community, advantageous for partnership and business development opportunities.
- Willingness to experiment and iterate on different strategies in a fast-paced startup environment.
