Our Shared Service Centres Organization supports our business with three locations: Cologne (Germany), Katowice (Poland), and Dalian (China). The Internal SSC Organization strives for excellence and aims to enable efficient processes and sustainable growth. The role is based in Katowice, Poland (hybrid).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and validate month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support and review journal entries prepared by other accountants.
  • Prepare and review financial statements ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Analyze unusual or complex accounting situations and propose appropriate treatments.
  • Prepare financial data for SAP postings related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Regional Finance, Corporate Accounting, Controlling, Tax, and Treasury.
  • Review internal controls and accounts reconciliation and support internal and external audit activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization across GL, AP and AR teams.
  • Manage accounting transactions in SAP, including fixed assets and intercompany reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in an international or multi-regional environment.
  • Strong accounting knowledge, including German GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Proven experience in financial statement preparation and month-/year-end closing leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Proficiency in SAP (FI/CO) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English.
  • Relevant academic or educational background.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA is highly desirable.
