What will you do?

As the Chapter Lead, you will be key in a multitude of transformational and key movements for Volvo Group and a key contributor in speeding up the digitalization execution. You will add value by contributing to successfully establishing the Software Engineer Chapter as well as the practitioner community of Software Engineers in your country that will build innovative solutions and technologies and be key drivers of all product development phases (planning, design, implementation, deployment, and software development during maintenance).


A key success factor will be to have frequent and detailed discussions with the Digital Domain Areas as well as stakeholders and colleagues in the respective Digital & IT organizations. You are expected to develop and execute a competence strategy for your country. You shall evolve the chapter structure overtime to be in line with changing business needs in your country.


As we move forward, you are expected to be a driving force in the continued digital transformation, where experiences, feedback and best practices are used to constantly evolve and improve. You will be part of the .NET Engineering Management Team and report to the Chapter Sub Area Leader of .NET Engineering.


These will be some key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the function .NET Engineer Chapter, hosting the skill centers for .NET Engineers in your country
  • Develop and execute the competence strategy for .NET Engineers
  • Manage capacity planning, ensuring short- and long-term capacity of Software Engineering competence to meet the growing demand in your country
  • Lead, develop and attract a team of talented Software Engineers
  • Contribute to common way of working across the Software Engineering Chapter through methods and best practices in compliance with standards, technologies, and trends
  • Secure "external" input and best practice sharing in the community
  • Be responsible for building skills within the organization and through collaboration with partners, vendors, association with universities and external events

Digital Delivery is a new function within Volvo Group Digital & IT. It has the ambition to identify and execute on new digital initiatives in tight collaboration with Business Areas and Group Functions as well as modernize and transform our existing solutions into products and to secure agile ways of working across the whole Digital Delivery function.


Together with our digital talents, we will work on solution design and deliveries to improve business performance and create value at scale for Volvo Group. Included in our mission is to drive an efficient Volvo Group Digital & IT interface and Portfolio Management for the TD/BAs and Group Functions.

Core competencies:

  • Relevant university degree and several years of experience as a practitioner and expert in the dotNET domain
  • 7+ experience as software engineer
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities to coach people or a few years as leading people, preferably in the .NET domain
  • Good knowledge in Unit/integration testing and/or TDD
  • Good knowledge of how to work with S.O.L.I.D principles
  • Understanding/experience with DevOps concepts (i.e., automation, CI/CD, etc.) is a plus
  • Complete proficiency in English is a requirement
  • Experience with agile methodologies is a plus, a willingness to adopt them is required
  • Finally, you find energy in working in a changing environment, executing the Volvo Group transformation agenda
