For our Poznan office, we are looking for a Category Manager - Indirect - Project support.

You will become part of the Indirect team, consisting of people located in Denmark and Poland, managing a global spend of 250MEUR covering areas such as Digital, Facility, Travel, Marketing, Waste handling, Industrial Cleaning, Development Projects, Material Handling Equipment, Professional Services as well as supporting our development of industry 4.0 manufacturing and further digitalization.

What you will be doing:

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for effective relationships with all key stakeholders including suppliers, to deliver results to increase profitability, secure supply, and minimize risk for the ROCKWOOL Group. You will support development and strategic projects via early involvement by securing procurement influence on supplier choice and focusing on sustainability in the procurement process to ensure we live up to our guidelines regarding Human Rights and Environmental impact.

Some of your main tasks will be:

  • Support development and strategic projects with procurement and market knowledge from the very beginning of the projects, with knowledge sharing from GSP.
  • Establish in-depth knowledge within the assigned area on projects, technologies, involved categories, spend, suppliers, relevant markets, and risks via networking with internal and external subject matter experts to recommend required action/business plans and solid budget forecasts and business plan input for projects as well as GSP business goals/targets. Ensure sustainable sourcing within the assigned areas with key focus on Human rights and Environmental impact.
  • Be the GSP ambassador in projects and the projects ambassador in GSP.
  • Cooperate with Key stakeholders (OPCO/Group Functions and GSP Regional organization) to ensure alignment on sourcing activities and projects on scope, timeline, and expected benefits.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to develop the procurement function to a more mature level and to influence policies and local strategies.
  • Secure procurement deliverables in projects including but not limited to; NDA, securing IPR, MSA, SLA, and license agreements.
  • Develop a 5-quarter rolling activity plan based on the category strategies and the stakeholders needs.
  • Run sourcing activities according to the category strategies for the assigned area by collaborating with the Category managers, Strategic Sourcing Team, and the regional Purchasing team.
  • Collect and communicate market and project information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular updates/communications (minimum quarterly) for key stakeholders on achievements and coming activities planned.

You can expect around 40 days of travel per year.

You remain confident during negotiations and when dealing with stakeholders, and you use your communication skills to work across the organization in a collaborative manner. You are a strong team player and at the same time, master the ability to work independently.

Moreover, we imagine you have:

  • Commercial business education (or similar) and Procurement experience obtained by working with Category management/procurement activities.
  • Procurement experience including: strategy, contracting, negotiation, and tenders globally.
  • Project management or participation experience managing timelines and resources.
  • Great communication skills, having the ability to clearly convey information and expectations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong motivation to find opportunities and create results in a fast-changing business environment and at the same time be able to communicate the strategy and the tactical steps needed to be taken to create the best possible results for our company.
  • Ability to work within challenging or changing timelines and deadlines.
  • A proficient user knowledge of IT systems.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
  • Driver’s license.
