Job Overview

TE Connectivitys Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage.

In order to drive efficient back-office operations, TE Connectivity wants to establish insourced regional shared service centers to support centralized processing of selected procurement functions such as PR/PO processing, but also Category Execution and Sourcing.

The Indirect Procurement CE will play a key role in the insourcing process by collecting and organizing all information gathered through the knowledge transfer received from the supplier currently used to perform those activities.

Position Overview:

This position will report to the PSC CE Team Leader and be a member of the PSC teams focusing on all the aspects of tactical and strategic procurement for his/her assigned commodities.

Responsibilities:

Key attributes of this role include:

  1. Experience in indirect commodity support and strategic sourcing
  2. Experience in at least one of the commodity category: CAPEX, MRO, Facilities, HR, Corporate Services or IT
  3. Good understanding of end-to-end S2P processes and associated technology platforms
  4. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, solid problem solving and detail oriented
  5. Strong communication skills
  6. Ability to work with deadlines
  7. Ability to work in culturally diverse teams with many levels of personnel
  8. Experience in a shared service center if possible

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support migration of Indirect Procurement processes from EMEA countries to Krakow and prepare Indirect Procurement related process documentation (process maps and work instructions)
  2. Become a Subject Matter Expert for assigned commodities
  3. Data or requirement gathering, market desk research, TCO calculation, benchmarking
  4. Organizing weekly regional commodity calls with Commodity Management and buyers
  5. Go-To person in case buyers have commodity specific questions
  6. Support and partner with Commodity Management towards strategic projects and business planning and forecasting (prioritization of opportunities based on Saving Potential vs Effort Required)
  7. CE’s are expected to help identify projects through spend analytics and opportunity identification
  8. CE‘s manage strategic and sourcing projects as assigned by Commodity Management and upon approval of project charter detailing scope, milestones, objectives, timeline
  9. Manage end-to-end own sourcing project from ideation to contract execution and ordering
  10. Sourcing activities to be based on the guidelines in the commodity playbook and other relevant documentation
  11. Set selection criteria for the suppliers to be invited in RFXs
  12. Understand suppliers and their capabilities
  13. Enforce use and acceptance of TE contract templates with all suppliers
  14. Collecting supplier quotations
  15. Comparing supplier offered prices and proposals
  16. Calculate savings as per the quotations
  17. Agree on which supplier to select with Commodity Management and/or Stakeholders
  18. Report productivity in relevant system
  19. Manage own contracts (redlining, alignment with stakeholders, negotiation with suppliers, interaction with Legal dept.) up to final execution
  20. Ensure executed contracts are properly uploaded in the contract repository
  21. Support implementing new contracts, and uploading metadata to contract database
  22. Participate in Global/Regional Commodity supplier review and internal meetings with TE Stakeholders as required
  23. Provide commodity specific training to new joiners (buyers)
  24. Ensure compliance with applicable TE policies
  25. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the function, ensuring that improvements are incorporated in the work routine
  26. Build relationship with key stakeholders including suppliers
  27. Build strong relationship with Commodity Management & Buyers
  28. Attend team meetings and trainings as required

Qualifications and Business Competencies:

  1. Good Experience in Indirect Procurement (5+ years)
  2. Previous experience in Strategic Sourcing preferred
  3. Good of MS office; very good Excel and other relevant tools for the function
  4. SAP PR2, S/4
  5. Good communication and organization skills
  6. Contract Management Literacy
  7. Very good English language skills in speech and writing + additional European language on top of Polish preferred
  8. Diversified Industrial Products/Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  9. Good command of other languages is a very important asset
